Who I Am
The day I received my children’s art set with the oil pastels and watercolors is a core memory. Once I got older and was introduced to a computer, my love for art merged with my love for technology. I loved Kid Pix, MS Paint, and eventually Photoshop.
For as long as I can remember I’ve been a visual person, but I’m also much more than that. I’m a curious person, a creative person, someone that loves to learn and make connections with what I’ve learned.
When I first got to college, I studied psychology. I wanted to learn how and why people think and act the way they do, but I couldn’t let go of the visual side of me. Advertising seemed like the perfect intersection of everything I love.
I love design, but more than anything I love the ideation. I love coming up with concepts, turning an idea over in my mind, trying to poke holes in it, then making it stronger. And I think my wide range of interests and experiences really helps with that.
I am Mexican and American, thinking in two languages and consuming two cultures constantly (more if you count international films and K-dramas). I am high brow and low brow, as interested in art history and literature as I am in the latest memes and pop culture moments. I love film, books, television, history, comedy, musicals, video games, the list goes on. Just don’t ask me to do math.
